The Advantages of Online Learning

Ask questions, make comments, perfect your game or playing style under the world's best teachers and students of the sport.

Up until now, the knowledge most of us have gained in water polo we gained “the old fashioned way,” by (sometimes very painful) experience. At best, as a short circuit to learning, one knowledgeable person instructs one other, or perhaps a small group, one instruction at a time. Although there have been a few textbooks written about water polo, the moment the playing rules are changed, something that happens nearly every Olympiad, at least some of the tactical sections, if not the technical sections themselves, become instantly out of date.

The standard (historical) solution is to take the few knowledgeable individuals out there and move them around the country, providing lecture-based theoretical instructions to those who can spend the time and money to attend these sessions. In a country the size of the USA, this is intrinsically expensive as well as inefficient.

With the advent of modern online instructional paradigms and pedagogies, it is possible to deliver up-to-date cutting-edge information, to anyone anywhere at anytime, and do so at least as effectively as if the information were delivered in person. This is done with the added benefits that the students do not need to do anything more difficult or inconvenient than turning on their computers and interacting with a web site at any time that is convenient to them.

We have built the Water Polo Academy to be the most effective teaching and learning system in the history of the sport of water polo. What you see here is what we are making available to you
